Happy Friday, party people!
I’ve written a flash fiction from the image below, which was chosen by one of my FFF comrades. Exactly 100 words, no more, no less.
Less than a week away! The Dragon Queen Series is due to release on June 28th! As I said last week, I’m celebrating the release by incorporating some of the characters from the series in my flash fictions.
Today’s flash features Spade, an earthly bound guardian angel who is one of the Dragon Queen’s protectors.

Flash Fiction Friday #28 ~ Raven
Crouched on the edge of the cliff, Raven glanced over at Spade. His blue eyes were set hard, his hand clutching his pistol and the barrel aimed at her.
The spell drawn in the snow illuminated and her wings extended further from her shoulder blades, making her wince.
“It’s working. Hurts though.”
“Not holstering my glock ‘til the transition’s complete. Shifters in mid-shift have been known to go on killing rampages.”
She giggled. “When is the last time you saw a raven go on a killing rampage?”
To her surprise, Spade grinned. “Nineteen-sixty-three, Hitchcock.”
“A movie?”
“Crazy fuckin’ birds.”
“Idiot.”

Ravens prefer carrion (dead food) but I’ve watch them and their relatives the magpies take live squirrels, rabbit babies, etc etc. A killing spree (and Hitchcock) aren’t impossible to imagine! Nice flash.
Loved it. I was imagining her rampaging, oh and I’ve seen The Birds several times. Scary!
