To Plan or Not to Plan

At the tail end of last year, I made a promise to myself. That promise was to set a schedule and stick to it by any means necessary.

Time to get my ADHD in control!

So, I bought a planner, a bunch of pretty and shiny stickers, then got to planning. It has been a life-changer! In short, planning my day-to-day schedule has become an obsession. But this is a good obsession—at least I think it is, or more so, that’s what I tell myself.

Having a physical planner staring me in the face every day makes it almost impossible to avoid the task I set for myself. That’s Almost with a capital A. You see, I’m obsessed with checking off all the items on my daily to-do list. So, I have become a wacky planner fanatic. What’s crazy is many fellow authors tried to get me to join the planner crew years ago. But I figured since I was already extremely busy, I did need to add anything else to my daily duties.

Boy, was I wrong. 🙂

Ready for February!

New Year, New Goals

Now that we have rolled into a new year, what are your plans?

I have so many plans I’ve lost count! However, my primary goal is to stick to my writing and release schedule, and I’ve already hit the ground running. Even while I was celebrating New Year’s Eve, I was writing. To me, that’s a great sign of what’s to come.

2020 really dealt me a curveball. I admit I lost my mojo. The stories and characters were running through my mind constantly, but getting the words typed out to form a solid, enjoyable tale was the problem. I was still writing, just not with the gusto and resolve I’d had in the past. Plus, my family cut into my plotting and writing time on a regular basis. It’s not their fault, though. The responsibility rests in my hands. I should’ve done a better job with setting boundaries for my creative time. I learned the hard way.

Good news is the boundaries have been set. For the most part, it seems they understand my scheduling system. Whether they abide by it is another story. LOL!

Until next time, happy reading!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Let’s make 2022 a spectacular year. I’m ready! I hope you are. I can’t wait to journey through this new chapter with you. This will be the best story ever. You’ll see. 😉

Update to Website!

Hi there!

Long time no post, right? I’ve been super busy as of late, which is a good thing. It means the words are getting written! I’ve revised my writing schedule to make room for weekly postings. Hopefully, I’ll stick with it. I have my fingers crossed.

The IDP team and I have revamped my website to make the buying experience more enjoyable. There is now an “add to cart” option and a smoother checkout process. If you have any suggestions on making it even better, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

While we were updating the website, something extraordinary happened!

I ordered 20 print books of Raven’s Seduction. 10 glossy covers and 10 matte covers. That’s usually what I sell in a 4-month span.

Well, the day we set up the product page, all 20 of those books got sold out! There are 13 in backorder. Squee! This has never happened to me before. Not sure what’s going on in the universe, but I certainly appreciate the support.

I instantly ordered more. So as soon as Raven Seduction is back in stock, I’ll drop another post. In the meantime, it’s available on Amazon for immediate purchase.

My swaggy goodies are coming in, slowly but surely. I’m packing books and gifts as we speak.

It’s going to be an exciting trip to the post office!

Although many things have changed on my website, some things remain the same. You can still download free sample reads. You can also read excerpts on the product pages. Just select “Read More” under the IDP Bookstore option on the bar menu.

Also, if you’re not signed up to my newsletter, now would be a good time to do that. From here on out, anytime a new release is about to drop, a sample read, or more so a sneak peek, will be offered to my subscribers before the title goes live.

Well, that’s it for now.

Until next time, have a fabulous week, my friends!

Random Flash Fiction (Drift)

Sometimes I find myself in writer’s block hell. If you’re a writer, I’m sure you can relate. When this happens, I pen a random flash fiction. It can be about something specific or nothing at all. Either way, it helps me get back on the beaten path. Enjoy!

NEW RELEASE ALERT! Miss Agnès by Hannah Byron

Introducing the lovely

Hannah Byron

Check out her brand new release…

Miss Agnès

*This title is historical fiction*

France 1908

Innocent, fairylike Agnès Gunarsson finds herself as a fish out of water when she meets the ‘terrible twins’, Elle and Jacques, at Château de Dragancourt in Picardy.

Elle and Jacques de Dragancourt both fall head over heels for Agnès. They each vie for her affections, each attempting to outdo the other, trying to win her heart.

The Swedish orphan has no idea how to handle this sibling love triangle. Her tragic past has in no way prepared her for the bold world these aristocrats embody.

When Elle’s advances go too far, Agnès must decide what she wants for herself and her future. Will she stay at Chateau de Dragancourt with Elle and Jacques, or is it all becoming too much for her to handle?

A tender coming-of-age tale of darkness and light, love and misunderstanding.

Miss Agnès Excerpt

She lay motionless. Agnès panicked. Her knees became wobbly and weak. Had she killed her?

But she saw Elle move, then curl up in a ball. With eyes closed, she kept lying like that. A beautiful dark Siren, lost in herself.

Without knowing what to do next, Agnès picked up the key that had fallen on the ground, and grabbing her bag called Gåva to follow her along the corridor, tears stinging her eyes. Not seeing where she was going until she bumped into Jacques. He’d clearly awoken from the noise and was coming to see what was going on.

Agnès stammered incoherent words, sobbing loudly, but in the end Jacques could make out what had happened and soothing her tried to make her sit down, but there was no reasoning with the distraught girl anymore. It was as if Elle’s wildness had transported over to Agnès.

“I hate her, I hate her!” she kept repeating.

So in the end Jacques wrapped Agnès in one of his own jackets and with rattling teeth, carrying the shivering Gåva in her arms, drove her back to her father’s château in the T Ford, while the first rays of light glimpsed over the rolling hills.
