New Cover Coming Soon

I have a cover reveal coming up! It’s the new and improved cover for Silent Screams, Book 1 of the Dragon Queen series. I can’t wait for you guys to see her. She is breathtaking!

I decided a year ago to update the content and the appearance of the DQ series. I’m over the moon and gliding through the stars about this revamp, something that’s long overdue. While writing the 6th book in this series, I realized my writing voice had changed. Or more so, evolved. It’s very different from my voice at the beginning of this series. So different that if you compare book 1 to the latest installment, you’d think 2 different authors had a hand in this series. And you would be right! Because I’m not the same author I was five years ago. I had to step up my game, so I did. It’s the same story, but it has better scenes. I’ll also add some scenes I took out for word count purposes. Screw those word counts! Let’s eat until hearts are content. It’ll have all the meat, potatoes, steam, and spice, with a heavy dose of fiyah. So, buckle up and brace yourselves! I’m not holding back this time. 😉

New Release Day! Antares (Book 2) #cyberpunk

Alexis Moonlight is back and still kickin’ ass!

Happy release day for Antares, the 2nd book in the Cross Knight Chronicles!

Years ago, humanity was forced into a Blood War with vampires and shifters. Humans were brought to near extinction. To ensure their survival, the humans who evaded the massacre erected barriers. Within those walls, they created a defense that combats the dark threat looming over the world called the Cross Knight Federation.

Alexis Moonlight kills vampires as a soldier in the Cross Knight Military. And she’s damn good at it! She knows her profession is necessary to protect human life, but she wants to feel alive again. The way she felt before hell’s rejects climbed up from their graves and forced mankind to hide behind walls.

Amid all the blood and war, a man she thought was dead drifts back into her life. Only, he’s not the same man she remembers.

Tristan Marino is no longer the gorgeous Italian guy who knew his way around her body. Her once sensuous lover and best friend is now a deadly vampire. To make matters worse, he had become a general in the White Dragon Legion—a military organization led by vampires.

The man she once loved is now her sworn enemy.

Tristan may have left droves of bodies in his wake pursuing Alexis, but what she doesn’t know is that the real threat resides in the organization she serves. His mission to expose the dark truth within the Federation depends on her help.

How can he convince her to join forces with him when she sees him as nothing more than a monster?

“No,” Alexis whimpered on a trembling gasp. “What have you done?”

Death permeated the air! The bodies of military soldiers littered the massive hall, some mutilated and others drained. Pools of blood flowed out over the marble flooring, matching the crimson splashes along the walls.

Tristan stood there, surrounded by the dead, his lips stained red. Specks of crimson dotted his face and shimmering silver hair. The scarlet glow from his eyes rested on her.

At his feet, the councilmember lay, no longer struggling to breathe. The little life he had left had been snatched away by the creature who stood above him.

Why did he bring me here? Why would he force me to witness this?

“Tristan…” She repeatedly muttered his name, hoping he would tell her to wake up. That this was all just a bad dream. “No, Tristan.” But he didn’t. Why would he, when he was the creator of this nightmare?

As he stood there, posing as the centerpiece of death, not one sign of remorse resided on his beautiful face. In fact, a spark of savage determination flashed in his demonic eyes.

The bloodshed wasn’t over, which meant more people would die by his hand.

A shudder of rage rushed down her spine. Her heart thundered rapidly, her breathing escalated. She clutched the sword in her grip, squeezing it so tight, the leather-wrapped hilt bit into her palm.

“Lexi.” He licked the blood from his lips. “I told you if you knew, you would hate me…”

If I could hate him, I wouldn’t be in this fucked up predicament.

“…That’s why I wanted you to stay in the room.”

No matter how much I love him, I have to stop him. I have to…

Leveling the blade, she scrambled back. She tried to gather her thoughts enough to speak, but the words wouldn’t come to her. Why? She knew he was a vampire. Hell, if he was like the other nightwalkers—mindless, blood-thirsty demons—she could deal with that. But no, he was so much worse than just a vampire. He was a calculated and level-headed, a cold-blooded killer.

He’s a monster!

The scarlet faded from his gaze, giving way to his hypnotic, greyish-blue irises. “You’re right, I AM a monster.” His voice filtered through her mind, increasing her panic. “Fortunately for you, I’m YOUR monster, so what I do next is entirely up to you.”

“Damn you, Tristan.” Tears burned her eyes as she crouched low in a battle stance, sword cocked for the kill.

His lips tilted in a smirk. “Do you find satisfaction in trying to damn a creature that’s already damned?” Unbridled power flowed off of him in smoky waves.

The difference in their strength was ever so clear. Tristan was stronger than her, in a league all of his own. She didn’t have to clash blades with him to know that. Surely the meal he got from the councilman, and anyone else he sucked dry, increased his vampy force. Still, she had to at least try to release him from this dark life.

Frowning, he shook his head. “Don’t do it.”

But I have to. He would slaughter more people if she didn’t.

A burst of fiery resolve stormed through her body, fueling her intent. With a leap forward, she sprinted toward him. Air rushed across her face as her feet barely touched the ground. Like before, when she was tussling with the cat-girl, she moved way faster than she should’ve been able to.

Unstirred, Tristan remained the centerpiece of the kill zone. Then suddenly, he disappeared.

Sanjay’s Confession #YNWrites #Cyberpunk #Dystopian #ASMSG #AlexisMoonlight

Yvonne Nicolas had the nerve to ask me if I was in love with Alexis Moonlight.

I hadn’t thought about it until she asked. I found myself stumbling on the notion. Me, in love with Moonlight? I can’t say it isn’t a possibility. To be honest, I’m not supposed to feel anything for her, given the fact that she’s my ward, more or less the core of my mission. I may be a superior knight who gets off on killing vampires, but I’m still human. That means every now and then I fall prey to my emotions.

Alexis is an extraordinary woman. She’s unruly, foul-mouthed, short-tempered and she never submits to anyone. I happen to find those characteristics attractive in a woman.

We’ve been lovers for… let’s see… three years, I think. When we jumped headfirst into our aggressive sexual relationship, we agreed it would be just sex. Nothing more. I tried hard not to get sucked in too deep with her, but after a while, something unexpected happened. I started to have feelings.

I remember the moment I found myself at a standoff with her. We’d had an argument earlier that day. It served as foreplay for me, but not so much for her. She was infuriated with me. In hindsight, she had good reason to be.

She wanted to leave the mission site and I wanted her to stay. As always when I’m around her, I let my emotions to get the best of me. I grabbed her in a not so gentle manner. She responded the only way she knew how to, with lethal force. I hadn’t drawn my weapon, but that didn’t stop her from shoving the barrel of her pistol into my stomach.

It was a snap move, one I hadn’t foreseen. It both pissed me off and aroused me at the same time. My cock was so hard, it hurt.

I knew there were eyes on us. The mission site was littered with knights. At the time, I didn’t know what to do. If I didn’t release her, she would shoot me. I knew that for sure because she was crazy like that. However, if I did let her go, that would be another stab at my ego. I didn’t mind giving her a little power over me, but a man of my caliber could only take so much.

Her friend, Cole, wedged his body between us and pushed us apart. He said something about having a problem for our solution. Or maybe it was the other way around. I don’t know.

My first thought was to tune him out and deal with her properly, but I couldn’t. Not when there were so many fellow knights watching us. I held onto her scowl, gifting her with my own narrow-eyed glower. I heard myself grumble, “Listening.”

“We can run a perimeter sweep,” Cole said.

I cut my eyes at him for a split second. “What?” Then I whipped them back on her furious face. Goddammit, she’s so beautiful when she’s enraged.

“Some of the hostiles are liable to get past this sector, like earlier. With me and Alex running the perimeter…”

I don’t remember what he said because the rest of his words faded out. All I could see was her. All I could hear was her. Her angry panting washed across my mind. It mingled with the memory of her breathy moans and sensual cries. My whole body hardened. Fuck! I wanted her, right then and there! I almost shoved Cole aside and made a go for her.

Cole’s voice came back in and rushed my erotic thoughts away. He glanced over his shoulder at Alexis. “Good idea? Right, Alex?”

Sneering at me, she clucked her tongue and turned her back to us. “I don’t care. I just don’t wanna be here.”

She huffed out a groan of frustration and stalked away. Her hips swayed with her demanding strut, making her armored tasset and shoulder cape flare. She not once cast those pretty eyes back at me.

That’s the thing. I always like to see her storm away, but I never like to let her go. “Stay on her,” I ordered Cole without taking my eyes off her sexy ass retreat.

He snorted then countered, “I always do.”

I pinned him with a wide glare only to get a teasing grin in return. I knew his comment was meant as an underhanded quip, but that shit rubbed me the wrong way. I didn’t care how gay he was, I didn’t like his relationship with Alexis. Not one bit. Teeth clenching, I growled, “Watch yourself, Officer Davis.”

Cole laughed and jogged after her. From the day he’d been appointed to train her, they’d been inseparable. Their friendship was instantaneous, which was unnerving to me. He didn’t show it much, but I knew he had a thing for her. Gay or straight, it was impossible for any man to be in her presence for an extended amount of time and not feel some kind of way about her.

Someone walked up behind me. “Oye, looks like you haven’t quite figured out how to keep that sassy-bit in line, Vice-Commander Sanjay Rahim.”

I had to take a deep calming breath before turning to face the owner of the annoying voice—JR. “Come again?” I would’ve responded with my fist, but striking the Chief Commander’s son would offer trouble I didn’t need. So, I kept my cool. For the time being.

A smug grin crossed his face. “She drew a pistol on you, in front of the other squads, and you did nothing. What kind of example does that set?” A chuckle carried his snobbish tone. “I told father you couldn’t handle her. Should’ve let Lopez spearhead that disobedient piece of ass.”

Heat rushed to my head and exploded behind my eyes. Despite my anger, I managed a smile. I wrapped my hand around the handle of my sword and nodded past him. “Better go catch up with your squad before you get left behind.”

“You’re falling for her, aren’t you?”

“They’re getting further and further away.” Squeezing the hilt, I stepped in closer. “Not good to get separated from your pack during a mission of this magnitude. Unfortunate things can happen.”

He backpedaled, seeming agitated. His bright green eyes danced then his smugness reappeared. He puffed his chest out and pulled his shoulders back as if to stand his ground.

I found it amusing that he thought he was untouchable. I had been dying to prove him wrong. Sure, he was bigger than me, but I was faster. I could’ve disembodied that fool in the blink of an eye and no one would’ve been the wiser.

“While you’re getting all cozy between her dark legs, remember she’s your mission,” he had dared to say. “Keep her in line or—”

I snatched my blade halfway from its casing, allowing him to see the silvery gleam.

Emerald eyes stretched wide, he leaped back and made a late grab for his sword. “I see you’ve misplaced your mind, Vice-Commander,” he gritted out. “You’re actually going to draw on me, while my father, your commanding officer is on site?”

“From this day forward, I suggest that you say nothing else to me. That is, if you’d like to keep your tongue.”

He took a few unsteady steps back, his face stained in shock. “You’re a madman.”

“Yes.” Slowly, I slid my blade back into its sheath. “That means I won’t be responsible for my actions if you don’t heed my warning.”

He blinked rapidly. He opened and closed his mouth like he wanted to say something. Then without another word, he turned and rushed off to join his squadron.

As I think back on that moment, I can’t help but smile. I did a lot of things out of my nature. You see, I’m the perfect knight in this Blood War. I always follow orders and I get the job done, no matter how many obstacles stand in my way, but that day I was ready to break protocol. That day, I wanted to kill that motherfucker from the bottom of my heart! But I restrained myself. I’m not sure I’ll be able to do that a second time.

So back to the question Yvonne asked me. Do I love Alexis Moonlight?

Hmm… It’s clear I will kill for her and I wouldn’t feel an ounce of guilt afterwards.

So, guess that means my answer is yes.

Humans are idiots!

For thousands of years, mankind was under the notion that they were at the top of the food chain. Strange happenings over time proved otherwise. But they couldn’t be convinced. The arrogance of it all. Or perhaps one should call it ignorance.

Mankind had once again thrust itself into a war built on hate, bigotry and power. History repeated itself tenfold. Only this time, it was worse. Racism and prejudice escalated to an all-time high. More than half of the world’s population were what society labeled as Exoticals, which was just another way of saying bi-racial. Despite that, humans still found reasons to hate each other. If that wasn’t bad enough, they damn near destroyed the ozone layer, so much that there were certain sectors—dead zones—where the air was unbreathable. Creators of their own demise.

Again, idiots.

Mother Earth was deteriorating, due to mankind’s incompetence and lack of compassion to her needs. Healthcare went to hell with the economy. Gas prices soared and religious beliefs were demolished.

In the midst of all that, the wealthy society took over. The Blue Bloods. Money ruled the world. Guess there was nothing new there.

A new division was formed. Now, it was the Blue Bloods against the middle class and the poor. Classism. Right when the wealthy were on the verge of systematically exterminating the society they called commoners, it happened.

Year 2066, October seventeenth, everything changed.

Creatures only believed to exist in fantasy novels and horror movies crawled up from their graves and declared in one powerful roar that they were the supreme species.

The immortals.

For mankind, the end days were here!

The devil spawns rapidly multiplied, turning their victims into demons against their will. They spread around the globe like a plague. Humans died in droves. Blood and tears ran like rivers in the streets.

Mankind was forced to put their differences aside to survive. Such a shame that’s what it took. Maybe that was the idea. Maybe that’s why God had forsaken the human race. It was because they had forsaken him.

As a response to the threat, the United Nations formed the Cross Federation. Interesting name considering they were basically a league of Blue Bloods from different countries who detested religion. All that aside, they thought they knew what was best for the world, and since the world had no one else to turn to, the Cross Federation was their only hope.

Walls were built and technology was advanced in an effort to preserve the human race. Men and women were trained as knights and pumped with a drug that afforded them the special ability to annihilate the opposing force.

And thus, the Blood Wars began…

Sanjay returned with a loaded injection gun in hand. The cobalt blue liquid sloshed around in the bullet-sized vial. He held it out to her. “Take it, so we can head out. You’ll need your strength for what we’re about to face.”

Heat rushed straight to her head as she glared at him. “No,” she bit out on a growl.

His Adam’s apple bobbed. He muttered something in Arabic as a slow menacing smile found its way to his lips. “Disregarding a direct order, Officer Moonlight?” He moved in closer, his approach demanding. “That would usually end in sex, but right now we don’t have the time for it. Either take it of your own will, or I’ll hold you down and shove it into your fucking neck myself.”

Alexis sprung toward his silky voice. Her wrist was caught in mid-swing, yet her blade still tasted vampire flesh.

The weight of his body shoved her to the floor. Strong legs straddled her hips, pinning her down.

She punched him in the jaw with her free hand. Her fingers cracked. With it, a sharp pain rushed up her arm and through the entire left side of her body. “Fuckin’ holy mother of oww!” she cried out. Felt like she’d jabbed stone.

His husky chuckle fluttered over her face. “Yeah, I could’ve told you that was a bad idea.”

Hey there, fellow readers and bloggers!

I was tagged by Author Stephanie Burke, Rae Lori, and Kate Baum to post the 7 lines of my WIP. So here I go. I hope you enjoy!

This is a snippet from my cyberpunk tale Alexis Moonlight (The Cross Knight Chronicles)

“I hate that we’re forced to do this, but you have to pay for the choices you’ve made. Look at this way, it could be much worse.” Sanjay held a signature pad out. The outline of a hand emerged on the screen. “Place your palm here to show you understand everything I’ve explained and that you comply with the terms.”

She slapped the pad out of his hand. “That droid is not staying here, Sanjay,” Alexis gritted out.

He eyed her in silence, his jawline set hard. He seemed indifferent about the whole situation. That was clearly just a front though. The droid was not only a problem for her, but for him as well. It would monitor her every move, twenty-four seven. That meant no more alone time for them.

Novel Snippet!

Scattered Flames ~ The Dragon Queen Series

The jeeps pulled up fast, with one leading the path. Each vehicle carried many muscle-bound shifters. The one in the passenger seat of the lead vehicle hopped off before the wheels came to complete stop.

He approached her, his gait long, his expression austere and solid. His powerful physique was padded in navy blue fatigues.

She’d never seen a shifter strapped so bloody tight, and with the latest artillery.

A large barreled pistol was harnessed to his muscled thigh. His right thigh carried a holster filled with sheathed daggers. Other pistols were holstered to various places on his body—chest, waist, and hips. Protruding at an angle from over his right shoulder was the ivory clad grip of a spear. From the glimpse of the handle alone, she could tell it wasn’t a design created in this realm.

Right away, she noticed his spot-on resemblance to that sexy demon vampire—Demetri. Only features to set him apart was his dusty light brown hair and eye color, which was a deep cerulean hue. Bright blue vapors, lighter than a normal shifter’s, sailed around his commanding form, trailing sterling streamers as they went. “Are you Sergeant Fiona ‘Copper’ Delany from Sector twelve?” His voice was surprisingly soft.

“Depends on who’s asking, Spear Master?”

“Commander Ronan Bithanos of the Chalvaiz Death Squad is asking,” he responded without missing a beat, his probing gaze unwavering.

“In that case, I guess I’m your solider.”

“Our grand alpha instructed me to pair you with a fellow soldier to drive the medical transport to the rendezvous point.”

Coming out of his mouth, it sounded more like she needed to be babysat. She clucked her tongue and scoffed, “Yes, per orders. However…” Her gaze roamed up and down his impressive frame. “When my captain informed me I’ll be riding with a fellow soldier, I didn’t expect some beefed up shifter.”

He cocked a single brow. “And I didn’t expect to be greeted by a mouthy redhead. So, I suppose we’ll both have to adjust to the unexpected.”
