At the tail end of last year, I made a promise to myself. That promise was to set a schedule and stick to it by any means necessary.
Time to get my ADHD in control!
So, I bought a planner, a bunch of pretty and shiny stickers, then got to planning. It has been a life-changer! In short, planning my day-to-day schedule has become an obsession. But this is a good obsession—at least I think it is, or more so, that’s what I tell myself.
Having a physical planner staring me in the face every day makes it almost impossible to avoid the task I set for myself. That’s Almost with a capital A. You see, I’m obsessed with checking off all the items on my daily to-do list. So, I have become a wacky planner fanatic. What’s crazy is many fellow authors tried to get me to join the planner crew years ago. But I figured since I was already extremely busy, I did need to add anything else to my daily duties.
Long time no post, right? I’ve been super busy as of late, which is a good thing. It means the words are getting written! I’ve revised my writing schedule to make room for weekly postings. Hopefully, I’ll stick with it. I have my fingers crossed.
The IDP team and I have revamped my website to make the buying experience more enjoyable. There is now an “add to cart” option and a smoother checkout process. If you have any suggestions on making it even better, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
While we were updating the website, something extraordinary happened!
I ordered 20 print books of Raven’s Seduction. 10 glossy covers and 10 matte covers. That’s usually what I sell in a 4-month span.
Well, the day we set up the product page, all 20 of those books got sold out! There are 13 in backorder. Squee! This has never happened to me before. Not sure what’s going on in the universe, but I certainly appreciate the support.
I instantly ordered more. So as soon as Raven Seduction is back in stock, I’ll drop another post. In the meantime, it’s available on Amazon for immediate purchase.
My swaggy goodies are coming in, slowly but surely. I’m packing books and gifts as we speak.
It’s going to be an exciting trip to the post office!
Although many things have changed on my website, some things remain the same. You can still download free sample reads. You can also read excerpts on the product pages. Just select “Read More” under the IDP Bookstore option on the bar menu.
Also, if you’re not signed up to my newsletter, now would be a good time to do that. From here on out, anytime a new release is about to drop, a sample read, or more so a sneak peek, will be offered to my subscribers before the title goes live.
Well, that’s it for now.
Until next time, have a fabulous week, my friends!
SIMONE IS CELEBRATING HER 2ND YEAR BOOK ANNIVERSARY! COME CELEBRATE WITH HER!
Dale Brocker moves to the Big Apple for a once in a lifetime job opportunity. Getting acclimated to a new city is never easy, but as he’s waiting on his train in the New York Subway, things take an exciting turn. The sultry voice of a woman catches his attention. The fact that her voice is raised in anger may have been part of the reason why. When he turns his head to see what all the fuss is about, his eyes take in a sight that almost floors him.
The woman’s beauty stuns him, and in that instant, she hijacks his heart, including everything below it.
His thoughts become flooded with images of the two of them together. All he can think about it how to get closer to her. But how does a soft-hearted Florida boy capture the heart of a natural born badass?
I hope you had a great February! Honestly, I can’t believe we allowed March to return after what she did at the barbecue last year. Let’s hope that she’s better behaved this year. *grin* To celebrate our journey into March–my blog and website have undergone construction. And now they have a brand new look! The two large cherry blossoms in my front yard have reached their full bloom, which lets me know that spring is in the air. This is by far my favorite time of the year. The balmy warm weather, the gentle breeze, and the drifting petals from the sakura trees fill me with all kinds of delight. I wanted my website and blog to convey that wonderful feeling. Hopefully, I succeeded!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. I know we all need it, considering the week we’ve just had. I have faith things will get better. Looking past the bad news, let’s look forward to some good news.
We’re almost over the hump, fam. A new year is just a couple weeks away. I hope and pray 2021 is a lot nicer to us than 2020 was because 2020 was a bully. And no one likes bullies.
If you need a break from this twisted reality we find ourselves living in, make sure to grab yourself a copy of Christmas Delights. It’s a sultry tale, rife with raunchy sex. And the best part, Covid is nowhere to be found. Like many of my other stories, a disclaimer is necessary. Christmas Delights is not suited for the faint of heart. However, if you can take the heat, I believe it will be an enjoyable read for you.
Many of you who follow me know that Christmas Delights is a re-release. When I first wrote this story some years ago, I published it through a Canadian publishing house. Like most manuscripts issued to a traditional pub, it was picked apart. I barely recognized my own story towards the end. I omitted 90% of the really juicy scenes per my editor’s request. I didn’t question it at the time because I was also working on the Dragon Queen series, which had my full attention. When Christmas Delights was published, I wasn’t as happy as I should’ve been because I felt like I had cheated the readers.
I delivered a story with stilted character interaction and, worst of all, tamed love scenes. That wasn’t me. I didn’t care for the cover much either. But there wasn’t much I could do about that since the director had the last say on my projects. Despite that, most readers enjoyed it. I found out later, the good stuff was taken out so the story could appeal to a broader audience, which it did. But still…I felt weird about it. What’s the point of being an erotic romance writer if I can’t let my freak flag fly.
I know not everyone can relate to certain verbiage, and sometimes my style of writing can boggle the mind, but it’s a piece of me. And I enjoy sharing that piece with the world. I told myself, if I ever got my story back, I would restore it to its original smuttiness. And that’s exactly what I did. Everything the editor told me to take out was put back in. I even added more heat. Because, why not?
With all that said, I hope you enjoy the story Christmas Delights. If you do, please take a moment to post a review and even spread the word. I appreciate you reading this, and I most certainly appreciate your support.
I’m so glad to have made it through another year, and I’m glad you guys made it with me. May not be a big deal for some, but for me, that’s enough reason to celebrate. Cheers!
At the beginning of 2018, I made a resolution. Though I tried, I wasn’t able to reach my goal. Part of the reason was due to something that happened in my personal life, and the other part was due to my lack of drive to make it happen. Earlier last year, my hubby fell ill, right after my boys got over a bad flu. It caused a big scare. As a result, I directed all of my attention to my better half’s health, totally disregarding my chatty characters and even my own health. I was so concerned about him, I didn’t even realize I was sick myself. It was a respiratory infection, which truly sucks for someone with bronchitis asthma. *sigh* Thankfully, I caught it before it got really bad.
Nevertheless, throughout it all, my writing suffered. Life happens so it couldn’t be helped. That just means I have to push harder to get ahead just in case life throws another monkey wrench my way.
That said, I’m going to do things differently this year. Instead of announcing my new year’s resolution, I’m going to keep to myself and make it happen. I won’t TALK about it, I’ll BE about it. That’s my motto this year and I plan to stick with it.
I have high hopes that you’ll be able to stick with your plans to reach your goals as well. Let’s do it together!
Staying low to the ground, Alexis crept into the hangar. She slipped into the nearest shadow and crouched against the wall.
The retractable ceiling was left open. Strange. There were no missions on record for the day. At least that’s what was reported on the log. So, why was the ceiling open? Several drones zipped by. They circled the field, lingering around the aircraft building.
Damn, this is gonna be harder than I expected.
She never backed down from a challenge before. So why start now? She flash-stepped across the massive space, going from one hovercraft to another, using them as cover. Hopefully, she moved fast enough to evade the drones’ radar. All she had to do was make it to the rear door. That would bring her closer to the canal, and closer the secrets within.
Almost there. I can do this. She took a deep breath and made a dash for the door.
Suddenly, the sharp shrill of a sword being drawn reached her senses. Alexis scanned her surroundings. The hangar seemed vacant, but that apparently wasn’t the case. She slowed her pace, but she kept moving. A threatening breeze rushed into her from the right. With it, a blade whistled through the air.
Reaching for her own sword, she ducked and swept her right leg out. Her foot caught the ankle of her unseen opponent.
A shadowy apparition emerged and flipped back away from her.
Alexis drew a trio of shuriken and launched them at the shadow. A series of silver streaks deflected the tiny blades.
Sword in hand, Alexis squared off. “If you wanted a battle, all you had to do was ask… Helena.”
Her adversary shed her ghostly form and stepped forth, wielding twin katanas. “You knew I would attack you?”
“The way you swoon over Tristan…” Alexis pushed her leather jacket from over her shoulders and let it fall to the ground. “Yeah, I knew it was only a matter of time before you made a go for me.”
Her preternatural eyes narrowed as her lips kicked up in a snarling sneer. “You don’t deserve him and I’m going to prove it.” Crossing her blades, she crouched in a battle stance. “I hope you’re ready, Moonlight. ‘Cause I’m not going to hold back.”
Smiling, Alexis held her weapon in a double grip. “Bitch, I stay ready.”

Mankind had once again thrust itself into a war built on hate, bigotry, and power. History repeated itself tenfold. Only this time, it was worse. Racism and prejudice escalated to an all-time high. More than half of the world’s population were what society labeled as Exoticals, which was just another way of saying bi-racial. Despite that, humans still found reasons to hate each other. If that wasn’t bad enough, they damn near destroyed the ozone layer, so much that there were certain sectors—dead zones—where the air was unbreathable. Creators of their own demise.
