She had been searching through the depths of the dark web for hours, desperate to find any information about the bond between riders and their dragons. The few accounts she stumbled upon were sparse and vague at best, leaving more questions than answers. None of them mentioned dragons taking mortal form—not a single one. The only solid lead she found was a passage about physical connection, but even that was buried within a heap of cryptic nonsense. If she hadn’t seen a dragon in human form with her own eyes, she would’ve dismissed it all as bullshit. Maybe that was the purpose. To mislead the public.
Alysa huffed out a groan. She may have no choice but to visit the library, something she had hoped to avoid. The scrolls and ancient transcripts were kept under lock and key in a vault, and requesting access would raise all kinds of red flags. But dammit, she was out of options. If she was going to break this bond, she needed every scrap of knowledge she could gather.
Do I even want to do this? Sever our bond? But he doesn’t want it. That’s what he said, right?
